A fatigue life model based on fracture mechanics was developed with which the SN-line (Woehler line) for cast aluminum alloys in non-porous and unnotched material states was calculated from the conventional mechanical properties (0.2 % yield strength, tensile strength and elastic modulus) as well as from the secondary dendrite arm spacing of the cast structure.
